Final Golden jubilee basketball tournament.
The two best team went into the final. DG Vaishnav College defeated Bishop Heber College and went into the final. On the other hand G. r. d College of Arts And Science, Coimbatore went into the final.
The competition was tough, bought the team fought well for the trophy but due to lack in perfect passing of Grd College of Arts And Science, Coimbatore, they lost many points and Vaishnav College gave a high leading in points.
Finally Vaishnav College got victory over G. r. d College. So, Bishop Heber got the third place in the basket ball. It was amazing tournament which took place between 6-8 of March 2018 and the final took place on 8th March around 7pm. finally trophy and award session help for the prize winners and best performers.
Bishop Heber College vs Arul Andavar College, Madurai.
The first match took place at the bishop Heber basket ball stadium between Bishop Heber College and Arul Andavar College Madurai.
The opposition of Bishop Heber College fought well but lack of mutual coordination they fail to score the points. The passing of Arul Andavar College was not as good as Bishop Heber College. Finally Bishop got victory over them by huge points. it took place on 6/3/2018.The match was onesided.
GOLDEN JUBILEE BASKET BALL TOURNAMENT - 2018
It was a state level invitation for intercollegiate basketball tournament for the Bishop Solomon Doraisawmy Memorial Trophy. Totally 12 team game name for this tournament which was to be held on 6 - 8 March 2018.
GOLDEN JUBILEE FINAL VOLLEYBALL- 2018
Finally two best team entered into the final, DG Vaishnav College and Loyola College. The final match took place at the bishop Heber volleyball court on 01/03/2018.
The main chief guest were principal of the Bishop Heber College. It was a fantastic competition between both the team. The spirit of sportsmanship was hovering in the court. Finally DG Vaishnav College won and Loyla become the runner.

Golden jubilee volleyball tournament 2018
It was a state level volleyball tournament and number of teams from various colleges took part in it were 12.it was a fantastic journey for the all teams. Zeal and jest for the sportsmanship was hovering among the players.
The trophy name was THE REV. G.H LAUNDER MEMORIAL TROPHY. It was take place from 27th February to 1st of March. The venue of the game was Bishop Heber volleyball court.
The main chief guest were Dr.Relton and Dr. Paul Dayabaran.The ground was flooded with audience. It was a fantastic tournament. The trophy
snatched by DG Vaishnav College, Chennai from Loyola College.Loyola got the second place. This game was all about dedication, sincerity and sports skills.

Final-Golden jubilee tournaments - 2018
The main chief guest were bursar Dr. S. Isaiah and vice principal Dr. D. Samuel Christopher. The match was organized by the consent of Director of physical education (Head) Dr. L. C John and Dr. A. Palraj(Incharge).Finally the two best team entered into the final to play on 22nd of February 2018.The team were Bishop Heber College, Tirchy vs Rathinam College of arts and science, Coimbatore.
Both the team were so strong enough to face each other and after being completing the half time game of the match none of the both able to score a single goal. Defender of the both team were so skillful and talented.
Finally Rathinam college made a slight mistake and because of that Bishop Heber got one free penalty shot. That was the first goal scored by Bishop Heber College. Opponent failed to make a single goal and hence time up and refery blew his his final whistle. The joy of celebration was over the field and the crowd by the bishop Heber supporters team and their supporters.
SEMI FINAL GOLDEN JUBILEE TOURNAMENT - 2018
Football is a game of zeal and jest. Among 14 inter-college teams finally four team enter into the semi final.
The first semi final was between Bishop Heber College vs Nehru Arts and science college, Coimbatore. Finally Bishop Heber College got victory over Nehru college on 21st febrruary 2018 and thereby entered in to final.
The second semi final took place on 22nd February 2018 between Jamal Mohamed college, Tirchy vs Rathinam college of arts and science, Coimbatore.Rathinam college defeated Jamal Mohamed college and entered into final to play against Bishop Heber College. They showed their talents and spirit of sportsmanship was shown by their skill and game they played.
GOLDEN JUBILEE TOURNAMENT - 2018
Recently Golden jubilee tournaments - 2018 held at Bishop Heber College Football ground. It was state level inter-college football tournament for the Rev. A. F Gardiner Memorial Trophy.
It was organized on 21-22 February 2018.Around 14 team from various colleges took part in it.Some of them are Nazareth college Chennai, shree Narayan College coimbatore, loyola College Chennai, Alagagapa College karaikudi, sacred heart college tirupattur and Jamal Mohamed college from tirchy. etc. it was really fantastic event and every one inspired from the game.

Report on Department of zoology
Department of zoology is active in Bishop Heber College since 1972.It offers various programme such as B.sc zoology, M.sc zoology and DAMLT(Diploma in advanced medical lab technology)
Let me put light on the some important events which took place in the zoology department.
1-Identification of nutrients from food sources. It took place on 3/11/2017.It was one day orientation programme for school students. The resource person for this event were Mr. Jermiah kirubanath, Assistant professor, Bishop Heber College.
2.Another important event took place in zoology department was stem cell and its role in regenerative medicine. It took place on 25/07/2017.The resource person for this event were Dr. P Ramachandran, M.S.,M.ch.,consultant plastic, reconstructive surgeon, Head stem Cell Research, Tirchy Medical Center Hospitals, Tirchy.
3 . Workshop held on implications of biotechnology on 07/02/2017.The resource person for this workshop were Dr. Ganga, Associate. Prof. In zoology, EVR college, Tirchy.
4.Another workshop took place on 06/02/2017 and the topic was Molecular and Immunological Techniques. Mode for this events were DBT, STAR college sponsored two days workshop. The resource person for this event were Mr. Kalaiarasu Mr. Vijayan senior Technicians, Media, Chennai.
5.A state level intercollegiate meet held on 21/03/2017 and the theme was wing 17.The resource person for this event were Mr. Swarnappan, District forest officer, Tamilianadu forest department, perambalur.Validiction: Dr. S Mary Lily, M. D, Dean K.A.P.V Government Medical College and MGM Government Hospital.
This were the important events which took place in 2017.The department of zoology has established excellent faculty strength, state Lab, a first rate infrastructure and an amiable ambience to do good science as evident from excellent publications and societal contributions to Healthcare.
Students of zoology have bagged consecutively top most university ranks from 2008 to 2016 and pass percentage of the students have increased progressively .Faculty members are actively involved in research in their respective areas of specialization by receiving major project from DST and minor projects from UGC (ongoing) with the total grant of Rs. 58,40000 and publish research papers in the reputed journals.

Excel and Empower meeting of CE society held at Bhc multipurpose auditorium.
This meeting was organized by the CE Society office bearers on 21 January 2018. The main speaker of this meeting was Ps. Zac Robert,He is from Madurai belong to Good Samaritan fellowship church.
The meeting started with opening prayer through our Principal at 6:30pm, Worship and praise was led by the CE Society office bearer. The auditorium was filled with hostel inmates students, warden and teachers.
Ps. Zac Robert mainly spoke on the unconditional love of God. He spoke about greatest sacrifice of Jesus as he gave his life to save the human from their sin. He stated that love of God is unconditional and unending.
Finally, the meeting closed at 9:30pm. Everything went so well. Many Youth got inspired and blessed by speaker. It was meaningful and useful for everyone present over there. The meeting helped to know the love of God, that he cares for everyone. Love is God.

Bishop Heber College retains cricket title.
In inter-zonal inter-collegiate meet
Bishop Heber College has retained the title in the Bharathidasan University inter-zonal inter-collegiate cricket tournament.
Twenty five colleges in Tiruchi zone and 24 colleges in Thanjavur zone took part in the inter-zonal tournament.
Two colleges from each zone – Bishop Heber College and National College (Tiruchi zone) and TBML College, Porayar, and AVC College, Mayiladuthurai, (Thanjavur zone) – qualified for the inter-zonal four-team league held here recently.
Bishop Heber College won all its matches in the four-team league to finish on top.
National College, with two wins, took the runner-up spot. TBML College, with a single victory, finished third.
D. Paul Dhayabaran, Principal, Bishop Heber College, and L.C. John, Head, Department of Physical Education, felicitated the students, head coach R. Veeraraghavan and assistant coach R. Suresh.
